Thankyou to everyone who has sent me messages of encouragement.
It’s good to see that my detox has meaning for you as well. I encourage you to give it a shot. It is challenging, but well worth it.
Well, today was the beginning of our next faze which is the two day fast. I thought I would handle it quite easily but it is really hard. The funny thing is, the hunger isn’t the hardest bit. It’s not having the texture of food in my mouth. It’s strange. I think I must have a kineasthetic connection to food. The feel good thing.
Having said that, apart from occassionally, I’ve never been a comfort eater. Interesting realisation… Hmmmm
Our diet over the weekend is beetroot, celery, spinach, apple and carrot juice. I am drinking more then 2 litres of water a day. We are allowed herbal teas and miso soup. Thank God for the miso soup or I would’ve screamed! Again, I think it’s the salty taste and the texture of the soup that I loved so much. It was almost a relief.
Now that I’ve had my winge, I must say that I am really looking forward to feeling the results of it. It is a continually journey and I am noticing changes each day. I feel lighter, fresher, sleeping incredibly well, my eyes are really clear and white, my skin looks great, my skin irritation is completely gone and if I weighed myself I am sure I have lost a few kilos.
And the biggest thing…. I am preventing illness and disease and am setting a great example for my children.
Just to let you know, my 14 year old daughter is doing the program with us (yes, it’s safe and she’s only fasting for one day) and my husband has joined me too. The accountability has helped immensely.
Well, it’s 1am and I’m knackered. Will write again in a few days.
Ciao and please keep sending me messages!
PS – I will say one thing though, it’s a good thing to do to get life into perspective. With everyone that has happened with the fires and the losses that people have felt, for me to go without food for two days fades in comparison to what they have experienced. It’s quite humbling actually:)
